Other Site Characteristics

L'area risulta abbondantemente attraversata da canali di bonifica con funzioni di scolo e di apporto irriguo; a tali canali si aggiungono oltre 4 km di fossati artificiali realizzati all'inteno od ai margini degli imboschimenti al fine di creare ambienti idonei a favorire la vita e la riproduzione dell'erpetofauna. Rilevante, per le positive ricadute ecotonali, anche la presenza di 1,8 km di siepi arbustive, di 7,8 km di filari arborei ed arborei-arbustivi, di zone marginali imboschite di 5 ha che si sommano agli imboschimenti più grandi (42,5 ha).

4.2 Quality and importance

Di rilievo la presenza, quantitativamente significativa, di Emys orbicularis, che sfrutta le valli ed il ricco reticolo idrografico artificiale per la vita e la riproduzione. Tali ambienti, unitamente ad altri elementi di diversificazione morfologica e vegetazionale, costituiscono una situazione ottimale per la vita e la riproduzione di rospi, Hyla intermedia, Natrix tessellata, Natrix natrix, Lacerta bilineata, ecc.
