Other Site Characteristics
| Il sito comprende un paesaggio collinare modellato da calanchi, rupi e profonde forre torrentizie create dai principali rami del torrente Uso. Il sito comprende in particolare la rupe calcarea sovrastata dall'antico borgo di Montetiffi e la sottostante selvaggia ma breve gola del'Uso, contornate da un paesaggio calanchivo (argille scagliose) punteggiato da affioramenti rocciosi minori. A completare il quadro descrittivo dell'uso del suolo riportato in tabella 4.1, si segnala la presenza di terreni utilizzati a pascolo e di calanchi in parte in fase di rinaturalizzazione. |
4.2 Quality and importance
| L'ambiente è caratterizzato da una considerevole biodiversità floristico-vegetazionale che alterna boschi mesofili e xero-termofili in cui si rinvengono varie rarità floristiche ad esempio Acer monspessulanum, Tilia cordata, Staphylea pinnata, Typha minima, Typha laxmanni, Dictamnus albus, Scilla bifolia, Scilla autumnalis, Phyllirea latifolia, Lilium martagon, Serapias vomeracea ecc .
Vi sono inoltre rappresentati habitat che rivestono una notevole importanza ornitologica con varie specie nidificanti, si cita ad esempio il Falco pellegrino, l'Albanella minore, il Lodolaio, il Barbagianni, il Passero solitario, il Picchio verde, la Tottavilla, l'Averla piccola, il Succiacapre, l'Ortolano e il Calandro. |
