Laghetto naturale ecologicamente e idrologicamente collegato con il Padule di Fucecchio, situato in un contesto piuttosto antropizzato.

4.2 Quality and importance

Area di limitata estenzione ma di notevolissimo interesse floristico, ospita numerose specie relitte microtermiche, atlantiche e igrofile oggi divenute rare o rarissime in tutta l'Europa meridionale. Interessanti i popolamenti a carici e a Sphagnum.
