Other Site Characteristics

Ampia conca intermontana a rilievo ondulato caratterizzata da un paesaggio agro-pastorale tradizionale costituito da un mosaico di campi, pascoli e boschetti con elevata presenza di formazioni lineari arbustive e arboree, di notevole pregio paesaggistico.

4.2 Quality and importance

Una delle aree più importanti a livello regionale per la conservazione di numerose specie ornitiche minacciate legate agli ambienti agricoli tradizionali (Ortolano, Calandro, Quaglia). Utilizzata come area di caccia da numerose specie di rapaci, alcune delle quali nidificanti in siti adiacenti. Presenza di corsi d'acqua scarsamente disturbati, con formazioni ripariali basso-arbustive a dominanza di Hippophaerhamnoides ssp. fluviatilis, che ospitano specie itiche autuctone legate ad ambienti di qualità. Da segnalare tra i Mammiferi la presenza di Canis lupus e tra gli invertebrati il Lepidottero Callimorpha quadripunctaria (nec quadripunctata!)..
