Rilievo calcareo situato ad est del Monte Amiata, in gran parte boscato e con alcune aree aperte.

4.2 Quality and importance

Faggete calcicole ben conservate con lembi di bosco a tiglio e aceri. Da segnalare la presenza di pascoli abbandonati ricchi di orchidee, utilizzati da Circaetus gallicus come siti di foraggiamento.Da segnalare la presenza del raro Coleottero Cerambycydae Rosalia alpina.
