Pinete artificiali di notevole interesse storico-paesaggistico (presenti da diversi secoli). Oggi sottoposte a trattamenti forestali, presentano un sottobosco più o meno sviluppato di sclerofille sempreverdi.

4.2 Quality and importance

Oltre che per il loro valore paesaggistico e per le loro funzioni protettive e ricreative, le pinete rivestono una notevole importanza in quanto ospitano alcune specie ornitiche fortemente minacciate (Coracias garrulus) o molto rare in Italia (Clamator glandarius). Da segnalare la presenza di cordoni litoranei con vegetazione dunale (Ammofileto o Crucianelleto).
