L'area comprende il tratto iniziale del Fiume Tescio, affluente di sinistra del Fiume Chiascio. In particolare le sponde sono completamente ricoperte da vegetazione igrofila del Salicion albae (92A0).

4.2 Quality and importance

Il Fiume Tescio scorre in una vallata a bassissima antropizzazione a causa della morfologia aspra delle pendici che sono quasi interamente ricoperte da boschi. Di conseguenza, la vegetazione igrofila, pur se saltuariamente ceduata, costituisce un ottimo esempio della boscaglia ripariale tipica dei fiumi minori appenninici.
