Other Site Characteristics
Gola calcarea lungo la quale si alternano paesaggi ripariali e rupestri con tratti più ampi ricoperti di boschi. Oltre agli habitat segnalati con codice ed attribuiti alle alleanze Sparganio-Glycerion fluitantis (3260), Saxifragion australis (8213), Salicion albae (92A0), Alno-Ulmion (91E0), ed alle associazioni Orno-Quercetum ilicis e Cephalanthero-Quercetum ilicis (9340), sono presenti boschi di Ostrya carpinifolia, dello Scutellario-Ostryetum, e cenosi a Quercus pubescens, riferite all'alleanza Quercion pubescentis-petraeae (91H0).
Il sito per le sue caratteristiche ecologiche viene attribuito alla regione biogeografica mediterranea, anche se ricade per il 25% nella regione continentale all'interno dei 7 Km di buffer. |
4.2 Quality and importance
Il sito racchiude, in poco spazio, molti degli habitat più tipici dell'Appennino calcareo umbro-marchigiano, tutti in buono stato di conservazione. Di particolare valore geobotanico sono: la vegetazione rupicola del Saxifragion australis molto rappresentative per composizione floristica; le stazioni rupestri a Buxus sempervirens, tra le più interessanti dell'Appenninno umbro-marchigiano; i boschetti di Alnus glutinosa, altrove distrutti o fortemente degradati; la vegetazione idrofitica poichè presente con una grande ricchezza di specie; le foreste a galleria di Salix alba tra le meglio conservate della regione. Tra le entità floristiche, oltre alle endemiche, sono di particolare rilievo: Leopoldia tenuiflora, rarissima a livello nazionale; Iris pseudacorus, rara a livello regionale; Chamacytisus spinescens e Carpinus orientalis, di particolare interesse fitogeografico per l'Umbria. Tra la fauna è stata segnalata anche Coronella austriaca (specie vulnerabile), Buteo buteo e Falco tinnunculus (poco comuni) er Mustela putorius (specie vulnerabile e rara). |
