Other Site Characteristics
Versante calcareo che delimita a nord il Lago di Corbara, quasi completamente ricoperto da boschi di sclerofille sempreverdi riferiti all'associazione Orno-Quercetum ilicis (9340). A questo habitat si intercalano piccole superfici ricoperte da garighe ad Erica multiflora (4030) e radure pascolative a Bromus erectus dell'alleanza Phleo ambigui-Bromion erecti (5212). Nel settore più elevato sono presenti lembi di boschi termofili caducifogli a Quercus cerris ed a Quercus pubescens (91H0). |
4.2 Quality and importance
Questo sito deve la sua importanza alla grande estensione e compattezza della lecceta che costituisce un buon esempio di bosco di sclerofille sempreverdi con caducifoglie. Inoltre, sui costoni più assolati sono presenti alcuni lembi di lecceta privi di specie dei Quercetalia pubescenti-petraeae, che indicano la transizione verso le fitocenosi prettamente mediterranee, che trovano in questa località uno dei limiti di distribuzione più interni. Tra le entità floristiche presenti sono state segnalate: Monotropa hypopitys e Cytinus ruber, rare a livello nazionale; Scorpiurus vermiculatus, Quercus crenata, Quercus dalechampii e Fumana thymifolia, rare a livello regionale. Tra la fauna è stato segnalato anche Accipiter nisus (specie rara), Buteo buteo e Falco tinnunculus (poco comuni), Martes martes (molto rara) e Mustela putorius (specie vulnerabile e rara). |
