Apparato vulcanico di Vico. Caldera di sprofondamento, profondità massima 48m. Andosuoli tipici. Umidità elevata.

4.2 Quality and importance

Zona umida di importanza nazionale per lo svernamento dell'avifauna acquatica e la nidificazione di lacune specie significative. Comunità acquatiche e ripicole ricche. Foresta matura ben conservata con un ricco numero di specie tipiche tra i mammiferi, uccelli e insetti. Specie vegetali rae o rarissime per il Lazio ed mergenze fitogeografiche.
