| Invaso artificiale con habitat lacustre ed estese formazioni ad elofite e boschi ripariali. Vi sono inoltre lembi di formazioni forestali a cerro, roverella e carpino nero. |
4.2 Quality and importance
| Sito di notevole importanza per la diversità e l'abbondanza della fauna ornitica. E' sede della prima garzaia che è anche la più importante d'Abruzzo con 200 nidi di nitticora. Inoltre costituisce un significativo corridoio ecologico com'è dimostrato dalla presenza del gatto selvatico e della vipera aspide. Ha un'elevato valore paesaggistico derivato dal mantenimento di un'agricoltura tradizionale che ha permesso la conservazione di ambienti semi naturali. |
