Other Site Characteristics

Litorale sabbioso con cordoni dunali e depressioni interdunali umide. Queste formazioni dunali sono attualmente tra le pochissime presenti in Abruzzo. Nel sito sono presenti anche popolamenti di Spartina juncea.

4.2 Quality and importance

Il sito rappresenta uno dei rari tratti costieri abruzzesi che ha mantenuto formazioni vegetali dunali ed interdunali. La residualità delle fitocenosi e delle entità vegetali, rare ed in pericolo di estinzione, conferisce al sito un elevato valore ambientale. All'interesse paesaggistico si somma quello educativo e didattico.
