VEGETAZIONE: Ostrieti mesofili e boschi misti con querceti a roverella e cerro e subordinatamente boschi a leccio e orniello su pendii acclivi. CLIMA: regione temperata, termotipo collinare inferiore, ombrotipo umido inferiore. SUOLI: inceptisuoli haplumbrepts lithic, mollisuoli haplustolls lithic e argixerolls.GEOLOGIA: Calcareniti biancastre e brecciose poligeniche avana alternate a marne e argille verdastre. Calcareniti bianche a cemento spatico. Diaspri vari colori con intercalazioni di calcari detritici. Breccie a cemento calcareo. Dolomie e calcari dolomitici in strati e banchi.

4.2 Quality and importance

Ambiente tipico collinare-montano, dove la roccia è compatta, vegetano le latifoglie mentre dove è di natura calcarea-saccaroide vegetano le resinose provenienti soprattutto da rimboschimenti. Interessanti sono anche gli ambienti rupestri sopra l'abitato di Pesche, che ospitano vegetazione casmofitica annidata tra le fessure delle rocce, e le forre torrentizie del versante occidentale di grande valenza paesaggistica. Il sito presenta nel complesso un buon grado di conservazione per gli habitat (tra l'altro prioritari) rilevati e un'elevata diversità floristica di specie nemorali tali da far esprimere un giudizio globale positivo.
