Other Site Characteristics

Bacino di acque salmastra, più propriamente definibile laguna. La sua formazione, avvenuta in tempi storici, è avvenuta a causa di sedimenti marini che hanno originato una lingua di terra che isola la laguna dal mare.

4.2 Quality and importance

Sito contenente numerosi habitat prioritari: dune a ginepri, pineta su sabbia, laguna e steppe salate (salicornieti). Importante area di sosta e svernamento per avifauna acquatica.
