Other Site Characteristics

Ampia area costiera pianeggiante; substrato granitico coperto da una stratificazione sedimentaria a tratti interessato da depositi eolici. Spiaggia di larghezza limitata circoscritta da una ripa di erosione di 10-15 m. incisa dalle acque meteoriche. La piana e' interessata da un rimboschimento a Pinus sp.pl. (eucaliptus negli impluvi). Clima è di tipo termomediterraneo secco.

4.2 Quality and importance

Presenza dell'habitat "Dune con foreste di Pinus pinea e/o Pinus pinaster" che consolida e stabilizza la duna. In periodo invernale e nei periodi di passo pre e post riproduttivo la spiaggia e la pineta possono essere zona di sosta per alcune specie di uccelli migratori e svernanti.
