Other Site Characteristics

A complex of woodlands, lakes, rivers and agricultural land situated on the moraine eminencies. The relief is especially diverse. The range of surface variation is nearly 100 m. Woods cover more than 60% of the total area. The largest woodlands are: Azvinciu (4,603 ha), Linkmenu (2,621 ha), Mincios (2,964 ha). The agricultural landscape predominated between the wood stands. There are more than 100 lakes of different size with the total area of more than 5000 ha. Waterways of the site belong to the basin of the Zeimena River.
