Other Site Characteristics

Site includes forest area with black alder swamps and mixed black alder and ash forests, also dry coniferous forests and mixed oak-ash forests and degraded bogs are found.

4.2 Quality and importance

Main qualifying features are 9080* Fennoscandian deciduous swamp woods and 9020* Fennoscandian hemiboreal natural old broad-leaved deciduous forests (Quercus, Tilia, Acer, Fraxinus or Ulmus) rich in epiphytes. Qualifying species is Agrimonia pilosa, Lycaena dispar and Leucorrhinia pectoralis. Important bird area, holds notable populations of Black Stork Ciconia nigra (2-3 p.), White-backed Woodpecker Dendrocopos leucotos (4-7 p.), Middle Spotted Woodpecker D. medius and Lesser Spotted Eagle Aquila pomarina.
