Other Site Characteristics

Site includes small lake with transitional mire belt surrounded by pine dominated bog woodland and dry pine forests.

4.2 Quality and importance

Qualifying features are 7140 Transitional mires and quaking bogs, 7210* Calcareous fens with Cladium mariscus and 91D0* Bog woodland. One of four Cladium mariscus localities in eastern part of Latvia. Qualifying species are Saxifraga hirculus, Liparis loeselii, Hamatocaulis vernicosus, Pulsatilla patens and Vertigo angustior.
