Shelters internationally important concentrations (above 1 % of flyway population) for Red-throated and Black-throated divers (Gavia stellata and Gavia arctica), Common Scoter (Melanitta nigra) , Velvet Scoter (Melanitta fusca), Long tailed duck (Clangula hyemalis), Little Gull (Larus minutus) and Black Guillemot (Cepphus grylle).

Marine area. Important site for migratory birds, e.g. Gavia stellata, Gavia arctica, Melanitta fusca, Melanitta nigra, Clangula hyemalis, Larus minutus. Potential site for habitat 1170 Reefs.
