Other Site Characteristics

Extensive marshy area consisting of reed beds, bogs, alder forest, and pools adjacent to some larger lakes intensively used for boating. Site adjacent to NL3000061 Naardermeer. Peat-bog areas, polders, nature reserves, agricultural pastures, lakes, canals with a variety of water tables, quality and quantity of seepage, nutrientlevels and succesion stages.

4.2 Quality and importance

One of the three most important sites for the habitat type Transition mires and quaking bogs (7140, subtype Caricion davallianae). One of the ten most important sites for the habitat type Bog woodland (91D0). Also very important site for Leucorrhinia pectoralis and Graphoderus bilineatus. Important site for Microtus oeconomus arenicola.
