Other Site Characteristics

An area of woodland, heathland and fens, located south of the city of Bergen xxx op Zoom. The site is adjacent to the Belgian IBA of Kalmhoutsche xxx Heide. Forest stands consist of deciduous/ mixed woodlands and conifer xxx plantations of various ages and under varying management regimes.

4.2 Quality and importance

The following data refer to the period 1993-1997 (data in paragraph 3.2a-b refer te period 1999-2003). One of the five most important sites for (breeding): European Honey-Buzzard Pernis apivoris, Eurasian Nightjar Caprimulgus europaeus, Black Woodpecker Dryocopus martius, Woodlark Lullula arborea. Site overlaps with IBA105 (IBA2000).
