Other Site Characteristics

An area of forestry plantations and dry heathland with some Juniperus, located between the villages of Nijverdal and Holten. Forest stands consist of deciduous/ mixed woodlands and conifer plantations of various agesand under varying management regimes.

4.2 Quality and importance

The only site for (breeding): Black Grouse Tetrao tetrix, and one of the five most important sites Eurasian Nightjar Caprimulgus europaeus. Also important for Lacerta agilis.Site included in IBA095 (IBA2000).One of the five most important sites for the habitat type European dry heaths (4030
