Other Site Characteristics

Muntele Tampa reprezinta partea nord-estica a muntilor Poienii Brasov, prelungita pana in interiorul orasului.Temperatura medie anuala este cuprinsa intre 6-8g.Reteaua hidrografica este formata din paraie cu caracter intermitent. Se remarca aparitia unor izvoare bogate in special in partea inferioara a masivului.Vegetatia este formata predominant din padure, care este constituita din fag, carpen, frasin, artar, molid, pin si larice. Printre tufariuri se întâlnesc plante ca : bibilica, papucul doamnei, stânjenelul si crucea voinicului.Patura erbacee este constituita din flora de mull: Asperulla odorata, Galium schultesii, Asarum europaeum, etc.Specia Dracocephalum austriacum este o specie foarte rara care a fost gasita în anul 1883 J.Romer , i introdus în ierbarul Facultaii de Silvicultura i Exploatari Forestiere.Timp de un secol nu a mai fost regasit.Abia în anul 1994 a fost gasita i colectata de un student Mârzac Gheorghe-momentan nu se tie daca au mai ramas exemplare din aceasta specie.Un interes deosebit îl prezinta versantul sud-estic unde apare o insula de vegetatie de stepa.Lumea animala este bogata si variata, identificandu-se 17 specii rare sau foarte rare de viespi;

4.2 Quality and importance

Muntele Tampa prezinta o importanta deosebita datorita prezentei padurilor de tipul Asperulo-Fagetum.Deasemenea, flora si fauna existente in zona, prezinta o importanta ecologica si biologica, mai ales prin prezenta speciilor: Cypripedium calceolus (papucul doamnei-neregasit ) la plante si Ursus arctos (urs brun) la mamifere. Importanta peisagistica i de recreere;
