Other Site Characteristics
| Situl se caracterizează printr-un sol foarte acid, sărac în nutrienți și minerale.Datorită mușchilor ce vegetează abundent solul și apa au devenit puternic acide ajungând la un pH cu valori cuprinse între 4-5,2. Stratul de turbă are o grosime medie de 3m. Asociația vegetală este dominată de speciile Sphagnum și Eriophorum vaginatum.
Specia forestieră dominantă este Pinus silvestris forma turfosa, care datorită acidității vegetează greu atingând diametre de 10-22cm la vârste între 80-110 ani.

4.2 Quality and importance
| Situl este reprezentativ pentru Bazinul Dornelor si adaposteste majoritatea speciilor oligotrofe de tinov, iar in zona de tampon din partea nord-estica a tinovului se afla si o populatie compacta de Sphagnum wulfianum, foarte rara in Romania.
Urmatoarele specii trecute la rubrica D (Other reasons) sunt specii higrofile de terenuri slab inmlastinite si de margini de mlastini impadurite, care pe masura ce va creste depozitul de turba vor evolua spre mlastini impadurite: Crepis paludosa, Doronicum austriacum, Filipendula ulmaria, Geum rivale, Salix aurita, Spiraea chamaedryfolia.; |
