Other Site Characteristics

Mlastina activa tipic oligotrofa, formata prin colmatarea lacului de origine vulcanica, care are un depozit de turba in zona centrala de cca. 10 m. In zona de lagg a mlastinei sunt prezente cenoze edificate de Betula pubescens si Pinus silvestris, iar in partea centrala a tinovului sunt prezente, in laculete, cenoze higrofile cu Scheuchzeria palustris, Carex pauciflora, C. limosa si Eriphorum vaginatum.;

4.2 Quality and importance

Situl este reprezentativ pentru tinoavele oligotrofe din Romania, care in zona de lagg sunt impadurite cu Pinus silvestris si Betula pubescens, iar in zona centrala au fitocenoze ierboase oligotrofe, iar populatiile de pin sunt pipernicite si disparate din cauza conditiilor ecologice nefavorabile. Urmatoarele specii trecute la rubrica D (Other reasons) sunt specii higrofile de terenuri slab inmlastinite si de margini de mlastini impadurite, care pe masura ce va creste depozitul de turba vor evolua spre mlastini impadurite: Calamagrostis stricta, Equisetum fluviatile, Galium palustre, Molinia caerulea, Salix aurita. ;
