Other Site Characteristics

SCI-ul Lozna este situat in tinutul Piemonturilor si Subcarpatilor interni ai Transilvaniei, districtul Piemontului Somesan, intr-o zona de dealuri dezvoltate pe depozite miocene, paleogene, neogene. SCI-ul se afla in etajele: - deluros de gorunete, fagete si goruneto-fagete, - deluros de cvercete (de gorun, cer, garnita, amestecuri dintre acestea) si sleauri de deal, - deluros de cvercete cu stejar (și cu cer, gârniță, gorun și amestecuri ale acetora). Situl se afle cuprins intre 180 m si 600 m altitudine, unitatea geomorfologica frecventa fiind versantul ondulat. Suprafata (rezultata din insumarea U.P.-urilor 1, 3 si 4 din O.S. Jibou si a U.P.-urilor 6 si 7 din O.S. Ileanda) este de 11481.4 ha. Reteaua hidrografica este relativ deasa, fara a iesi insa in evidenta (totusi, in timpul ploilor torentiale se produc viituri), fiind formata din mai multe paraie, afluiente ale raului Somes. După sistemul de clasificare a lui Köppen, adaptat la teritoriul țării noastre, distingem regiunea climatică C.f.b.x. padurile de foioase acopera in cvasitotalitate situl. In cuprinsul sit-ului se intalnesc 20 tipuri de padure, frecvent de productivitate mijlocie si superioara, acestea avand ca si corespondenta, in Natura 2000, 5 tipuri de habitate forestiere: 9110 – Luzulo-Fagetum beech forest, 9130 - Asperulo-Fagetum beech forest, 9170 – Galio-Carpinetum oak – hornbeam forest, 91M0 – Pannonian-Balkanic turkey oak – sessile forest si 91Y0 – Dacian oak – hornbeam forests. ;

4.2 Quality and importance

Situl include cel mai mare si compact masiv forestier din Campia Somesului si asigura o mai buna distributie geografica a SCI-urilor in NV Transilvaniei. Sit important pentru habitatele forestiere, dar si pentru micromamifere, nevertebrate, amfibieni.;
