Zonă umedă pe cursul râului Mureș (jud. Mureș) în regiunea biogeografică Continentală.;

4.2 Quality and importance

De importanță ridicată pentru speciile de amfibieni Bombina variegata, Triturus cristatus și subspecia indigenă Triturus vulgaris ampelensis. Foarte important pentru conservarea speciei Gobio uranoscopus și Zingel streber. Specia Zingel streber pătrunde până în această zonă a Mureșului, deci este cea mai înaltă zonă din bazinul Mureșului, unde specia este prezentă.;
