Habitatul natural al speciei Carabus hungaricus se limiteaza in prezent doar la vegetatia ruderala (tufarisuri de graminee spontane, tufisuri de Prunus spinosa, Rosa sp) pastrata doar in perdele de protectie/delimitarile dintre terenurile agricole sau la limita unor mici trupuri de padure mixta de pe dealul Latunas. Exemplarele speciei au fost observate pe vechiul rambleu al unei foste cai ferate, actualmente un teren necultivat de maximum 15 m latime si intins de-alungul parcelelor agricole inconjutatoare. ;

4.2 Quality and importance

Fasiile nearate dintre terenurile agricole pastreaza vegetatia ruderala stepica importanta in conservarea mai multor specii de neverterbrate (C. hungaricus, Colias croceus, Coenagrion etc. precum si de micromamifere). Mentionam ca tipul de habitat caracteristic speciei este acelasi cu tipul de teren preferat de agricultori pentru productii de cereale sau leguminoase, fapt pentru care specia a intrat pe tot arealul sau sub impactul activitatilor antropice (agricultura). In sit, habitatul este in declin ca urmare a depozitarilor de deseuri mixte rezultate din activitatile agricole si permanent amenintate de incendii sau desteleniri. ;
