4.1 General site character

Other Site Characteristics

Mlatinile de la Satchinez se afla la circa 25 km NV de Timioara. Din punct de vedere geomorfologic se afla la contactul a trei câmpii cu caractere morfologice diferite: Câmpia Timiului, Câmpia Vingai, Câmpia Jimboliei. Mlatinile de la Satchinez, împreuna cu complexul lacustru, sunt considerate un rest al fostelor mlatini, inundate periodic, ce ocupau în trecut cea mai mare parte a Câmpiei Banatului, se caracterizeaza prin existena unor mlatini permanente ce alterneaza cu suprafee ocupate de stuf, bali, fânee i pâlcuride salcii. Zona de tampon este importanta atât pentru protecia rezervaiei cât i prin faptul ca reprezinta locul de hranire pentru numeroasa pasari. ;

4.2 Quality and importance

C1 – specii de interes conservativ global – 3 specii cristel de câmp (Crex crex), raa roie (Aythya nyroca), vânturel de seara (Falco vespertinus). C6 – populaii importante din specii ameninate la nivelul Uniunii Europene – 3 specii stârc rou (Ardea purpurea), iganu (Plegadis falcinellus), erete de stuf (Circus aeruginosus). Zona de es cu mlatini, stufari întins i câmpuri umede, care ofera loc de cuibarit pentru multe specii de balta. Dintre acetia cele mai importante sunt eretele de stuf, stârcul rou, raa roie, însa pentru zona este unul dintre foarte puinele locuri de cuibarit din afara Dobrogei pentru iganu i cormoran mic (Phalacrocorax pygmeus). În afara speciilor amintite, zona prezinta loc de reproducere i pentru câteva perechi de chirighia cu obraji albi (Chlidonias hybridus), buhai de balta (Botaurtus stellaris), stârc galben (Ardeola ralloides), egreta mica (Egretta garzetta), stârc de noapte (Nycticorax nycticorax) i piciorong (Himantopus himantopus). În pâlcurile de copaci gasim efective de vânturel de seara, iar pe pajiti cuibaresc cristelii de câmp. Cu o reabilitare ampla a zonei se poate îmbunataii în mare masura calitatea locurilor de cuibarit pentru un numar mare de specii. ;
