Other Site Characteristics

The Natura 2000-site Åsa gravfält is situated on a boulder ridge, on the top and on the western hillside. Grazing, dry soil and non fertilized condition gives the pasture a rich flora of vascular plants. Danthonia decumbens, Potentilla tabernaemontani and Tarxacum grp. erythrosperma are a few examples but most striking is the occurence of thousands of Pulsatilla vulgaris ssp.vulgaris. An remarkable, old and knotty pine tree standing in the north-east part of the pasture. The site is also interesting from a cultural point of view. A rune stone and many ancient graves have made the whole area very famous.
