Other Site Characteristics

Långvrån is a small broad-leaved forest situated in the open, flat, farming-land in the western part of Östergötland. The whole area of the nature reserve should in the long run be forested with broad-leaved trees.

4.2 Quality and importance

The nature reserve of Långvrån has a high value and is important as a island of wood in a heavy explored arable land. The reserve serves as an example of how the open farming-land looked before farming started thousand years ago.
