- NP: in case that a habitat type no longer exists in the site enter: x (optional)
- Cover: decimal values can be entered
- Caves: for habitat types 8310, 8330 (caves) enter the number of caves if estimated surface is not available.
- Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation)

Other Site Characteristics
Hallstad ängar is situated at the southern end of the big lake Järnlunden in the middle of Östergötland. The surrounding landscape is hilly with some characteristic big faults with steeps. The site Hallstad ängar is dominated by the hay meadow with trees of Tilia cordata that have been cut for harvesting leaves to the animals. The manner is still continued even though the leaves are not used as food. There are also a wet pasture and small parts with deciduous forest in the reserve. The bedrock in the site consist of granite and the sediments overlaying are mostly clay. Moraine, sand and peat are also found in small parts of the site. The site is slightly hilly. |
4.2 Quality and importance
Hallstad ängar is a very valueable site with high biological values connected both to the flora and the fauna. The site also shows an oldfashioned type of habitat that were used by farmer for a long period for hay harvesting.Hallstad ängar is the largest meadow with Tilia cordata on the swedish mainland. |
