Other Site Characteristics

Bona is situated in the southern part of the community of Ydre in the south of Östergötland where the woodland dominates the landscape. The farm Bona is situated in the village Svinhult and the landscape close to village gives a magnificant view over the surroundings. The farmingland belonging to the site Bona includes both open pastures and oakpastures. Since the humidity in the pastures differ several different vegetationtypes are found in the pastures. The dominating trees in the pastures are Quercus robur and Betula verrucosa and in one part Juniperus communis dominates. At the last mentioned area grow Calluna vulgaris, Sieglingia procumbens and Briza media. Other species in the pastures are Antennaria dioica, Scorzonera humilis, Arnica montana and Succisa pratensis. The buildings belonging to the farm are old and wellkept and contribute to the global assessment of the site.

Bona is a very valueable site with high botanical values in the speciesrich grassland.The number of species in the pastures are high. The grassland at Bona has few similarities in Östergötland.
