Other Site Characteristics
| Djurn - (Animal island) Djurn is situated along the southern shore of Brviken and consists of a point at the inner part of the bay. The surroundings are slightly hilly and covered by sandy moraine or clay. Within the area, which is a nature reserve, a mosaic of various kinds of nature settings could be found. In the nortwestern part of the reserve there is some forest and in the south is a large open sea shore grassland. North of this sea shore grassland, some big oaks grow on the grazed hills. In the western part, several big oaks grow together with some hazel shrubs and other old deciduous trees. |
4.2 Quality and importance
| Djurns nature reserve is a very valueable site with a mixture of different habitats. Among the nature values can be mentioned species of lichens and fungi, mostly of them living on the big oaks. Djurns nature reserves pastures is on the list of the national conservation plan for the agricultural landscape. |
