Other Site Characteristics
Bösemålen - The first time Bösemålen is known to have been mentioned in writing was in 1680, when it was mentioned as being under construction in a description of Boxholm manor, written by Rosenhane. The farm is situated in the southern woodland about 10 km south of the church in Rinna by Lake Mossebo. On the western and northern shores of the lake the social historical landscape is diversified with fields and forest covered meadowlands with oak and birch. There are numerous fields that are hard to manage and the surroundings are rich in cairns. There are remnants of wooden fences as well as new ones around the farm. In the northern part of the area on a level with Lejonbacken (Lion hill), there is a traditionally managed stony hay-meadow area with a fine flora favoured by meadow management. The area has high nature and social historical values and an unbroken management is a condition for this open and diversified landscape to remain that way. The two former crafter's lodgings Aspbacken (Aspen hill) and Lejonbacken were in use in the early 19th century. Just north of the houses a stone axe was found showing that the area has been used by man for a long time. |
4.2 Quality and importance
Bösemålen is a very valueable site with a large number of characteristic species represented in the pasture and meadows. There are also cultural values at the site. |
