Other Site Characteristics

Gibbehult, in the county of Kinda, 2,5 km west of Tidersrum church, is a big pastureland on low hills of gravel material. The big and open pasture east of the buildings is today managed by grazing. But in the early 1970 this area was managed with haymaking tools. Birch, oak, Juniper communis, Rosa sp., and some Fraxinus excelsior growths in the pasture. The pasture change from dry hills to more humid parts and the flora is thereby of various compositions. There is also a lot of stonefences in the site, as well as remnants of trees that have been regularly cut (pollarding) to produce food to cattle, horses and sheep.

Gibbehult is a very valuable site with a large number of characteristic species represented in the pasture. There are also cultural values at the site. Gibbehult has only few similarities in Östergötland.
