Other Site Characteristics

The area consists of a north-south going mountain ridge, covered partly with semi-natural aspen-coniferous forests and deciduous forests. On the western slopes there ar steeps and talus slopes. In the area there is plenty of dead wood in various forms and stages of decay.

4.2 Quality and importance

The abundance of dead wood and deciduous trees together with the rocky terrain gives a rich flora of cryptogams and a rich bird fauna, with for example several species of woodpeckers.
