Other Site Characteristics

Natural and seminatural forests along the Nittälven river. The forest mainly consists of spruce-type with a large amount of deciduous trees and rich herbaceous undergrowth. This forest grows on former pastures and meadows, today almost completely overgrown. Here and there are small barns. Part of the area consists of pine-dominated forest and mires. .

4.2 Quality and importance

The forests are rich in deciduous trees and dead wood, which brings a special flora and fauna. The rich herbaceous undergrowth promoted by nutrient-rich and moist conditions is also valuable.
