4.2 Quality and importance

Lake Vättern is the second biggest lake in Sweden. It is a oligotrophic lakewith Charavegetation on the bottom. Stable ecosystem with very goodwaterquality. The lake has a lot of national red list species of fishes andinevertebrates. Unique fauna with Salvelinus alpinus salvelinus and someglacial relicts of inevertebrates.
