Other Site Characteristics

The pond is situated in pasture land. Cattle graze the surrondings, but the pond is fenced in so no grazing occurs in the actual water. Single decidious trees occur by the pond.

4.2 Quality and importance

A pond inhabited by the red listed species Great crested newt, Triturus cristatus. The water constitute a breeding site for the species and a large amount of individuals of the species has been recorded in the pond, indicating that it contains a relatively viable population.
