Other Site Characteristics
Hunshult är ett ädellövskogsområde på nordligaste delen av Sirkön i sjön Åsnen. Sjön har en synnerligen värdefull och artrik fågelfauna. I skogen finns många mindre åkrar insprängda. |
4.2 Quality and importance
Hunshult är ett ädellövskogsområde på nordligaste delen av Sirkön i sjön Åsnen.
Sjön har en synnerligen värdefull och artrik fågel-fauna. Koncentrationen av häckande storlom och fisk-gjuse är bland de största i Europa Åsnen har inter-nationell betydelse som rast- och övervintringsbio-top för storskrakar och havsörnar.
Området är i huvudsak bevuxet med bok- och ekskog med inslag av lind, lönn, alm, björk, tall och gran. Här och var finns insprängda alkärr med sockelbild-ning, askkärr, lövsumpskogar och andra mindre våt-marker. Hamlade träd förekommer.
Funna signalarter i skogen är fällmossa, guldlock-mossa, lunglav, platt fjädermossa, västlig hakmossa, blåmossa, blodlav, fjällig filtlav, krusig ulota, gammelgranslav, korallorangelav, rostfläck, stor revmossa och trädporella. Funna rödlistade arter är mjölig klotterlav, almlav och bokkantlav.
I skogen finns många mindre åkrar insprängda. Åker-renarna som tidigare skötts genom slåtter är fortfa-rande värdefulla och hyser många olika träd- och buskarter såsom hassel, körsbär, hägg, slånbär, vildapel mm. Längs vissa åkrar finns rester från de tidigare så vanliga ängsfruktodlingarna. I byns cen-trala delar finns fruktodlingar med främst äpple kvar. Vissa av dessa är sk ängsfruktodlingar andra är åkerfruktodlingar. |
