  • Abundance categories (Cat.): C = common, R = rare, V = very rare, P = present - to fill if data are deficient (DD) or in addition to population size information
  • Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation); VP = 'Very poor' (use this category only, if not even a rough estimation of the population size can be made, in this case the fields for population size can remain empty, but the field "Abundance categories" has to be filled in)

Other Site Characteristics

From Hammarsjön river Helge å flows towards the sea surrounded by large areas of moist meadows. Until the late 18th century the river passed through the former lake Egeside sjö. In 1775 the river broke itself a new way to the sea. This caused a dramatic lowering of the waterlevels and what used to be a lake suddenly turned into a large marshy area. Almost all different types of lowland wetlands are represented within this site.

4.2 Quality and importance

The wetlands hold a very rich bird fauna year around. Most of the shore meadows are unnaffected by nitrogen fertilizers and still hold an rich and interesting flora with several species of orchids, Senecio paludosus and many others. Natterjack toads Bufo calamita occur in the area. Vramsån is one of the foremost streams for reproduction of Sea trout (Salmo trutta)in the region.
