Other Site Characteristics

A larger area of enclosed pastures beautifully located in an undulating landscape with iceriver material. Vegetation on ridges and heights are represented by the occurrence of dry and mesic meadows of Agrostis capillaris type, while humid valleys contain wet meadows of Dechampsia cespitosa or poor fens.

4.2 Quality and importance

The area contains several older trees in natural pastures, which are rich in epiphytes. For example is there a maple covered with Lobaria pulmonaria. This is an agricultural landscape on a small scale with many smaller fields and cultivated land cairns. The sward is mostly unaffected by chemical improvement and contain several valuable species of natural meadows-and pastures.

6.3 Conservation measures (optional)

In Gråshult 1:13 it is desirable to cut down some young birches and oaks. In Gråshult 1:10 the north-west parts of pastures are weakly managed. Here is a higher grazing pressure needed. The south-east part has become grassed due to ceased managing. This area is most valuable and were management should be started as soon as possible.
