Other Site Characteristics

Two different types of mires can be identified. Active raised bogs are dominating but transition mires and quaking bogs are too be found in the eastern part of the site. This bog-landscape with several small lakes attracts different types of birds for breeding.

Visnums stormosse is described in Mire Protection Plan (MSP), which contains 491 of the most valuable mire sites in the country.
