Other Site Characteristics

The site Lövsalen contents mires, forests on moist to dry ground and a small brook. In 1888 almost the whole the penisula Hornslandet was affected by fire. In the burnt areas, as in the major part of Lövsalen, the amount of decidouos trees is very large.

4.2 Quality and importance

The spruceforest is over 200 years old and the spare pineforest is representative for this area. Parts of the forest have been exposed to fire. There are also moist forests on the border of the mires. The diversity of the nature and lack of human activities causes a diverse flora and fauna.
