Other Site Characteristics
| Vitörarnas Nature Reserve is made up of two larger islands, some small islets and surrounding water. The islands consists of heavily surged moraine rich of boulders and with large shingle-fields. As the upheaval is large there is a pioneer vegetation of bushes and trees around the shores. |
4.2 Quality and importance
| Vitörarnas Nature Reserve was founded to preserve a genuine archipelago nature with geological, zoological and botanical values. The islands have a bird fauna which is typical for the coast of the suothern part of the Gulf of Bothnia but very rich. The vegetation is characterized of the upheaval and the exposed position outside the coast.An old fishing village on the northen island Norrskär is nowadays above all used for recreation.Vitörarna is situated within a larger area of national interest to environmental care. |

5.3 Site designation (optional)
| Forestry is not allowed on the islands. The site is intended to free development.In order to protect the bird-life is Sörskär and the point of Törnskär of the island Norrskär, and surrounding water, restricted area during the time april 15 to july 31. It should be pointed out that the sites SE0630170, 0171, 0172 and 0173 almost are surrounding an area of the Gulf of Bothnia which has been pointed out as a prospective Marine reserve by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. |
