4.2 Quality and importance
Lake Gosjön is a natural dystrofic lake with significanthly coloured water, nutrient poor with weakly acid water. The bottom fauna is rather rich in species, among others the mayfly Caenis horaria indicating non-acidified conditions. Fish population is dominated by pearch and pike. Since 1985 Lake Gosjön is a reference lake in the Swedish National Monitoring Programme. |

6.3 Conservation measures (optional)
As a reference lake liming and other forms of nutrient additions in the lake and / or drainage area is not accepted. In the same way only ordinary forestry is tolerated. The aim is to protect the most nearby surroundings of the lake as a consultation area. In the consultation area only nature conservation-oriented forest management will be accepted and a care-demanding patch will be left along the border of the lake. |
