Other Site Characteristics

Large area with natural coniferous forest which mainly has the caracter of a fire-free refugia with long stand continuity. Lichen of special interest is the endangered Usnea longissima. A lot of dead standing trees and downed logs in various stages of decay lead to high biodiveristy in the forest.

4.2 Quality and importance

Large area with natural coniferous forest, mostly spruce, but with a mixture of Scots pine and deciduous trees, e.g. aspen, birch and sallow. The forest contains a large number of endangered species of lichens and fungi.
