  • PF: for the habitat types that can have a non-priority as well as a priority form (6210, 7130, 9430) enter "X" in the column PF to indicate the priority form.
  • NP: in case that a habitat type no longer exists in the site enter: x (optional)
  • Cover: decimal values can be entered
  • Caves: for habitat types 8310, 8330 (caves) enter the number of caves if estimated surface is not available.
  • Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation)

3.2 Species referred to in Article 4 of Directive 2009/147/EC and listed in Annex II of Directive 92/43/EEC and site evaluation for them

  • Type: p = permanent, r = reproducing, c = concentration, w = wintering (for plant and non-migratory species use permanent)
  • Unit: i = individuals, p = pairs or other units according to the Standard list of population units and codes in accordance with Article 12 and 17 reporting (see reference portal)
  • Abundance categories (Cat.): C = common, R = rare, V = very rare, P = present - to fill if data are deficient (DD) or in addition to population size information
  • Data quality: G = 'Good' (e.g. based on surveys); M = 'Moderate' (e.g. based on partial data with some extrapolation); P = 'Poor' (e.g. rough estimation); VP = 'Very poor' (use this category only, if not even a rough estimation of the population size can be made, in this case the fields for population size can remain empty, but the field "Abundance categories" has to be filled in)

Other Site Characteristics

The stream Vattenån flows into the stream Dysjöån, 7 km further downstreams Dysjöån flows into the river Ljungan. The stream Vattenån flows from a large area with remnants from the iceage, where lakes and ponds were created when large remnants of ice melted.A large part of this area lies in the nature reserve of Helvetesbrännan. The surroundings of the stream consist mostly of forest land with smaller portions of mires and bogs. The stream Vattenån varies a great deal along its path, there are rapids and slow streaming areas, furthermore there are some waterfalls and a canjon-like area. The stream Vattenån is to be characterized as a forest stream with very nutrient-low water, with a high resistance against acidification. The stream has previously been used for log-driving and there has been 9 log-driving dams. The terrain with an abundance of big boulders has led to the stream not being adjusted to log-driving. They used flumes on both sides of the stream instead. Furthermore there has been four water-mills and one saw-mill along the stream. Vattenån is relatively unaffected by human activity, however there are some remnants from previous activity that need to be removed and the stream needs to be restored to its natural condition. The stream Vattenån has a reproducing population of freshwater pearl mussel, Margaritifera margaritifera, and is part of a core-area for otter, Lutra lutra. The fish-fauna consists of brown trout Salmo trutta, bullhead Cottus gobio and minnow Phoxinus phoxinus.
