Virgin forest, threatened polypores and lichenes.Området har idag inga kända förekomster av grov- respektive slät tallkapuschongbagge. Det finns emellertid flera nyligen funna förekomster av dessa arter relativt nära.Detta är ett tänkt objekt för naturvårdsbränning och efter bränning kan arterna förväntas hittas här. Vår förhoppning är att detta område ska utgöra basen i ett större bränningslandskap.

4.2 Quality and importance

Området är beläget cirka 20 km nordnordväst om Strömsund, 5 km nordost om Risnäset, i Strömsunds kommun.Ett område med omväxlande karaktär och som sträcker sig utmed ett långsmalt skifte med föryngringsytor i vardera ände. Områdets högsta partier finns i de centrala delarna med ca 415 meter över havet och de lägsta i anslutning till avgränsningen i sydväst på 330 meter över havet. Dominerande bergart består i huvudsak av vemdalskvartsit och jordarter av moig till grusig morän. De centrala partierna består av dimensionsavverkad tallskog/Pinus sylvestris men där relativt grova och högvuxna tallöverståndare lämnats, ett par av dessa med rovfågelbo. Övriga delområden karaktäriseras av örtrik sumpskog i väster samt lågarik grannaturskog/Picea abies i öster. Inom objektet finns delar som avverkats i sen tid och där det idag står fröträdstallar och ungskog. Avverkningar av angränsande skog i söder är nära förestående då ny skogsbilväg dragits fram där. Namn som Nybodarna, Allåbodarna och Nordbodarna vittnar om att fäboddriften har varit allmänt utbredd i omgivningarna. Stora delar av området är av skogsvårdsstyrelsen identifierade som nyckelbiotoper 1993.Området har idag inga kända förekomster av grov- respektive slät tallkapuschongbagge. Det finns emellertid flera nyligen funna förekomster av dessa arter relativt nära.Detta är ett tänkt objekt för naturvårdsbränning och efter bränning kan arterna förväntas hittas här. Vår förhoppning är att detta område ska utgöra basen i ett större bränningslandskap.
